Hi-Lo Blackjack Card Counting Scam/Conspiracy

Blackjack Strategy Video Source & Information:

Moviemakerjjcasino’s John Stathis reveals a major flaw of the High-Low or Hi-Lo card count system contained in Ed Thorp’s 1966 2nd edition revision of “Beat The Dealer”. Stathis upgraded Thorp’s Ten Count with his own count strategy as the Ten Count (2-9=+1, 10-K=-2, the aces are side counted). Moviemakerjjcasino then demonstrates his method of the Ten Count (now JSTAT Count) and strategy by counting cards at double deck blackjack.

  1. In million dollar blackjack ken uston has live the american dream if you have a ten thousand dollar bankroll you could play blackjack with eventos odds and not lose but still get comped rooms and free flights can you make a Video on how to do this without needing a lot

  2. 1) This really doesn't explain any flaws with the Hi/Low.
    2) The MIT team won millions and disbanded because of internal issues. A second team "Amphibian Investments" was also born from this, and made millions upon millions as well. Since we're on YouTube, try watching the Breaking Vegas Documentary: The True Story of the MIT Blackjack Team.
    2) The Tens count was the original count used by Thorp, before refining the system according to the calculations to maximize the Expected Value, which if you read the book in your hands you would know. Hi/low absolutely out performs the Tens count.
    3) You seem to be familiar with the game. If that's so, you should easily be able to do the math yourself on both systems (as I have), and you would see that the hi/low definitely out performs the Tens count. The Tens count is very useful for attacking some side bets though.
    4) Math proof it out performs (unless you modify the Tens count to be something more like Zen, add in aces side count, etc): http://www.qfit.com/card-counting.htm

p.s. all that extra work you do to keep a side count, etc, will by in large lead to more player mistakes in the long run, costing more EV than you would lose by using an 'upgraded' count other than Hi/Low.

  3. Obviously Hi-Lo isn't going to be as good in double deck games, it has a lower player efficiency than systems such as Uston APC, however it is good in shoe games where playing efficiency matters much less due to it's simplicity combined with it's high betting correlation which matters more the more decks that are in play.

  4. What is the original count from the first edition? I had this book at one point but is now lost and the ones I have ordered that were supposed to be earlier editions were later eds. I typically use the count 3-7 and 10-Ace and do ok with this count….. I have never had good luck with the hi-lo. Wong halves doesn't seem to be any better and requires a strong effort–not a big fan of Wong's work in reality. If I feel like I'm on my game I use the hi-opt w ace side count.. I keep a stack of chips as side count and I have never been asked to stop. I have never won more than $1200 either. But have won many days in a row before and it does add up. Like the videos!!! I have been blatant before and counted aloud–dealer and pit boss have never cared–I didn't care either. I sometimes watch and see if it looks like other people count and 95%+ they are just varying their bets and not counting anything. I like your strong opinions on the cards and will keep watching.

  5. I've won more with staying on crap hands and a dealer face card showing than hitting my crap hands.

  6. I was a dealer for 15 years and I saw several people lose their shirt using the plus minus system. The problem is the house can get the high cards as well and the only thing that gives you a slight advantage is if you get a blackjack, that's why its important to keep track of the Aces so you know what your chances are of getting a blacjack but of course the dealer may get the blackjack instead, there is no way of knowing If you or the dealer will get the blackjack or high cards you may win sometimes counting cards but there will be days that you will lose even If you count perfectly. The few people that do constantly make a living counting cards start with at least a 3 thousand and up bankroll and it takes a lot of patients and hours at the table. Trust me when I tell you that you are better off not counting and just playing to have fun and keep your day job. Most counters If they do profit it's only a small profit and it's really not worth the time or effort not to mention eventually you may get banned in the future. There have been countless od people lose there shirt trying to count cards because they did not have the bankroll or patients to play and they really did not understand the concept of playing basic strategy. Best of luck lol

  7. Ps: remember getting a blacjack is the only thing that gives you a slight advantage when the count is in your favor because the high cards and blackjacks can fall in the dealers hand as well, with that being said you have to have a big bankroll to hang in there until you profit from the blackjacks you get when you have a favorable count. Its almost like flipping a coin 50/50 shot of winning except you have probably a 2 percent edge because of the blackjacks you will get. The question is how many hands will the house beat you before you get a favorable count lol so that's why you still need luck on your side no matter what you do. If your not lucky you wont win even if you count

  8. John Stathis has made millions of dollars in the stock market, tens of thousands at blackjack, discovered and testing the current black jack strategy used by thousands, all with his brilliant math skills…..SAID NOBODY EVER!
