I take it you don't play live blackjack the red card is the cutting card and when the cutting card comes into play you change the shoe so people cannot card count well it makes it harder for them to do it

You stated you were using basic strategy, however some of your stands were pretty questionable. You should always hit on soft 17. 15/16 against and 8, you should be hitting right there too.
