Should You Tip Your Blackjack Dealer?

  1. If this were any other job, tipping would not be an issue. So, tip.
    ETA: play for the dealer.

  2. You wouldn't be a very effective food critic if the waiters keep spitting in your food because they know you're going to tip them $5 on a $500 meal.

  3. As a Veteran Table Games Dealer; Id like to point out that we are NOT paid minimum wage, it’s way less.

  4. There is so much wrong with this review. This guy should’ve actually spoke with some Veteran dealers before making all of these “guesses.”

  5. -Waiting to tip a dealer after they’ve dealt to you for 80 minutes is no good for you in any means. If I’m dealing to you for 80 minutes and we’re having a great time etc etc and there’s no tips here and there, this only annoys me. Should I start slowing the game? Should I become a robot? Because the performance I’m giving maybe isn’t good enough? Or maybe I turn my attention to a different guest who shows interest? This only tells me to change things up. However, for regulars that are known for how/when they tip is different. Players have to remember you’re here for a service, just like going to a club or bar or restaurant etc. By all means, we know a lot of guests do not tip and honestly we can point them out before they even sit down. Yes, I agree with asking the dealers to deal this way or that because it lets us know what you like. Please remember, when this guy says the players have to deal with mean or inattentive dealers….we have to deal with all kinds of players. And unlike you, we can’t just walk away to another game. A majority of gamblers we see smell “big time”, pick their nose at the table, put food/snacks in their mouth and then give us cash or chips. People itch their butt, put their hands in their pants or in their bras, cough, sneeze right in our face, curse at us and threaten our lives every single day. As a Veteran dealer, you get used to handling these situations and most dealers are pretty tough emotionally (def not all of them). This is a job or career to some and we are here to help and advise you on the best ways to play each game. No, we’re not trying to trick you. Why would we? 90% of our income is from you “our guests” and NOT from the casino. When guests complain about the casino, most likely we have more complaints about how we’re treated then you. Dealers and players have A LOT more in common than most want to believe.

  6. Hey Colin, the casino I play at uses 8 decks and shuffles around halfway each time! How do I go about card counting in such a situation? Appreciate your help and all the hard work you put in making all the videos!

  7. Tipping is tough: my bartenders I see often – tip – I discovered even the busiest times, I get my drinks first (they told me because 50% of customers don't tip) – and they forgive me if when I get mass drunk (every time). But a British bloke said, "In England nobody tips. They get paid their wages to do their job. We don't tip our servers and helpers like you don't tip McDonald employees – and they work harder than most to serve up food." While a Romanian lady I was dating told me, "We don't tip in Europe. It's rude. Insulting." Another Russian woman I was dating yelled at me, "You're pitsing me off!" I think she meant pissing… .

  8. If you are a recreational player who are having fun with disposal cash budget, then definitely tip would be the right thing to do. If you are professional who needs to win to pay bills, then only tip when you can afford to and don't ever feel bad about it. Dealer and professional players both made the decision to take on a very hard career, so don't expect anything from other people for your own personal choices.

  9. Hi, can you use card counting in online live casinos? If only some use a CSM could you let me know the top ones to go for/to avoid?

    Many thanks
