TEX TALKS BATTLETECH: The Blackjack – GM’s OKAYEST PRODUCT

Blackjack Tips Information & Video Source:

Tex Talks Battletech is a new series where Tex talks Battletech, Battletech lore, history, and mech combat in the glorious 31st Century. Avast Clanners, its Fightin’ time. No guts. No Galaxy.

This episode I cover the Blackjack, which is General Motor’s Okayest Product. It’s quite meh as far as mechs go but hell, it was requested so here we go.

  1. I guess that all explains when you start with a Blackjack in Paradox's Battletech game. 👍

  2. The Blackjack will always have a special place in my heart as it was the starter Mech in Battletech and it was that game that got me into the MechWarrior universe

  3. 12:35 Off to the right you can see a 'mech hand with its middle finger missing. I like to think that a pilot made his BattleMech flip off the enemy force, and an autocannon shell blew the finger off.

  4. The Blackjack was a mech that happened, it did stuff and all involved were mildly satisified, THE END.

  5. Man, I love the track used in the intro. Does anyone know what the exact name of that song is? I'd love to buy a copy from Epidemic Sound.

  6. I've had a soft spot for the Blackjack for a lot of years, unfortunately the soft spot is the armor itself.

    Will get shot for C-bills

  7. Apparently the armor fell off the Swedish built Leopard 2A5 tanks so that's a real thing that can happen.
This was caught during testing though as a production line was set up in Sweden as part of the contract in the 1990's and Hägglunds had not built tanks before.
