    36 ways that the dice can roll. 16 are in the field 20 are not.
    3,4,9,10,11 pay even money 2 & 12 pay double (12 pays Triple in some real casinos).
    Place bets (bets directly placed on the numbers) on the 5,6, & 8 and the field in equal amounts (AKA the Iron Cross) covers all numbers except 7,
    5,6, or 8 rolls and the field loses which is why you bet in equal amounts and just replace the field bet from your winning 5,6, or 8 bet
    The field bet has action on every roll, place bets only have action once a point is established.
    And as always 7 out, everything loses.
