Exploitative Poker is the opposite of GTO. That said, the best poker players often combine the two.

Exploitative means your exploiting the weaknesses of your opponents. It’s a more aggressive route than GTO, which can help you accumulate chips faster. At the same time, by being more aggressive, you lower your defense walls and leave yourself vulnerable to counterattacks.

Once again, I’ll simplify. If you want to be Exploitative, then do it by adapting to potential risks.

For instance, if Mike is a LAG player that likes to accumulate chips quickly or bust and re-buy to try again, then you probably don’t want to attempt to exploit Mike often. This might make you say to yourself: I’m not afraid of Mike just because he’s a LAG player!

Okay, awesome, but you just lost because you let Ego in the door. This stuff is really freaking simple. I don’t understand why people make it so complicated. If you want to exploit someone, then exploit the weak players.

Let’s say you were playing in a dodge ball game and every time you hit someone on the other side you earned $100. Would you go after the best athletes or the ones with poor coordination and terrible reflexes?

Hopefully, you see my point. Be the Shark. Attack Weakness.
