NEGREANU vs POLK | MASSIVE COOLER in the High Stakes Feud

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

When a straight runs into a full house in a heads up match you just know that a big pot is going to brew and that is exactly what happened in this hand from the NEGREANU vs POLK High Stakes Feud.

I was surprised to see how often the solver actually likes to fold the straight on the river, something that I would find very hard to do. Would you ever be able to find a fold as Negreanu in this spot or would you end up telling your friends that you’ve just experienced a massive cooler like I would? 😅

  1. What would YOU do with 8♥ 7♥ on the turn facing a check raise?

    Board: T♠8♦3♣7♦
    Pot: $7,446

    Your Stack: $47,173
    Their Stack: $34,681

    Your bet: $1,217
    Their raise: $4,409

    A) Fold
    B) Call
    C) Re-raise

  2. Hi @Jonathan Little! I have a question for you sir.

Do you think GTO strategy negatively or positively effects poker?

This might be a bad comparison considering the mental health of the person I'm going to speak about however Bobby Fischer said Chess died, in his opinion, once A.I. took over. It doesn't allow humans to be more creative and work out decisions and problems, instead their is a specific move for each play and counter to each play. I'm just wondering what you think and if it takes out the creativity of play? If you have answered this question a 1,000x I apologize, as I am new to GTO strategy and I have just started to get into your videos. Thanks!

  3. Thank you Jon -great content as always.
I’m confused by the chart coloring perhaps on your next video you could explain the color references on each chart.

  4. i preferred dnegs analysis of this hand tbh. this video made me not want to learn more about poker strategy…..

  5. Depends on the player. Against a bad player, I’d be looking to fold. Against a good player, fold some and call some, depending on how capable they are of bluffing here. I wouldn’t have considered reraising. That seems like folding out worse hands and losing to better ones.
