  1. Please make a video dedicated entirely to educating people on what the word effective means.

  2. @bart what sizing do you use to 3 bet in position? Always 4x + 1 OOP do we go 3 in position?

  3. Pre-flop is standard 5x 3 bet to $60 (as bart stated)…Def. just call click back 4 bet this deep. When it goes check/check on flop. It's a very clear small bet for value on the turn of around $100-$130..It's comical that Bart says he would bet $350-$400 on this river. You need to bet much smaller than that to get looked up by AA or QQ in this spot. $200-$250 fits the bill here. Also the caller is getting wayyyy too caught up on next level thinking at a $1/$2 game.

  4. Jesus Christ this is the BIGGEST mistake "good" players make at 1-3. Your thought process is way beyond that of your typical 1-3 player. The down betting here is awful play for this level IMO. Leading flop would have been reasonable. For a smallish bet like 100. But im fine with check, betting the turn. We may not get 3 streets here. BUT we have to bet 150 on turn. Then something like 350 on river. We missed so much value its gross.

  5. Not sure why he didn't bet flop…AA or QQ has to call at least one street, so whether you bet flop or turn, what difference does it make? Betting out on the flop makes it easier/more likely to get all the money in by the river.

  6. My table image would allow me to lead flop, I lead for about 150, villain can never fold AA when you lead, and if he raises AA its suicide so he’s never raising either. I’m very LAG tho so I could get away with it, once he calls a flop lead he’s told you his hand is AA QQ JJ, (as if the 4 bet didn’t already confirm AA QQ ) on the turn we now have a pot of $525. On the turn villain never has a flush draw, he never calls your lead with any suited cards, only pairs, so you can check turn and villain will think you where bluff leading (remember this is 1-3 not 5-10). If villain bets after you check turn you can shove over any bet and he cant fold. If he checks in shoving any river that’s not an A or Q. He will call 80% or more after you go bet check bet. This line will not work if your a nit,

  7. Cannot be thinking about "what hands are we leading with?" on the turn because there is absolutely zero need to balance our range at a live $1/2 game.

However, if we were to balance our range in this spot, we would bet the turn with all our K's and all our AcXc. BUT, if we're doing that, we have to go bigger on the turn (like around $135), so that we can both bomb the river for value with our K's and made flushes, and increase fold equity on our missed flush draws.

All that being said, just don't get so fancy at a live $1/2 game. Bet the turn, and bet the river every single time and size down enough to get 100% calls from both AA and QQ.

  8. Bet 100 on flop, get called, bet another 150 on turn, maybe get called, jam on river and probably get a fold. Result against opponent's range not that different from what the Hero got which makes me think his line might be OK.

  9. So A K over cards and a gutshot draw is worth calling any half pot , that makes sense cause I guess you have about % 30 equity and you are getting 2 to 1 on your money,. A great lesson cause in some ways that instinctively came off as a fold to me, nothing better than finding weaknesses in my thought process and having them corrected by these videos. It is good math, but for some reason my impulse would have been to fold, even though I kind of know better. I am a very new player though, just started in January 2018, I wasted the last 30 years with chess, nice game, but not money in it, poker is a fun game and there is money in poker, Pretty easy choice to switch over. lol
