RAMPAGE Wins $197,600 & Becomes A POKER MASTER!

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

Ethan ‘Rampage Poker’ Yau recently won a Poker Masters event in the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas. Today we look at a hand that he played against seasoned professional Stephan Song.

In this hand Rampage is a clear chip leader with just 5 remaining and thus he should be putting on pressure to the other stacks at the table, particularly the medium sized stacks.

I discuss the Independent Chip Model (ICM) implications when playing on final tables and how your poker strategy should adapt depending on not only your own stack size but also your opponents.

This is Rampage’s first $10,000 live tournament win which bagged him an impressive $197,600!

  1. What would YOU do on the river with Q♦ J♦?

    Your Stack (HJ): 2,700,000

    Their Stack (BTN): 1,600,000

    Pot: 905,000

    Board: K♦ 3♣ 2♠ 6♦ Q♠

    A) Check

    B) Bet 325,000

    C) Bet 500,000

    D) Bet 900,000

    E) Bet 1,600,000 (all-in)

  2. Rampage went from a draw to having pretty good showdown. Song's bets show that he is trying to get to a cheap showdown, which indicates a smaller pair. However he could have a Q, although I doubt he would be in the had with Q3 or 2 or 6. So Ethan probably wants to bet for value and fold if he gets raised. I like a blocker bet of 325k. A slightly over half pot bet of 500K is probably ok too.
