Beginner’s Guide to Omaha PLO

Learn Texas Holdem Video Source & Info:

Hi guys, Dominic here! This is your beginner’s guide to understanding Pot Limit Omaha, otherwise known as Omaha PLO.

Pot Limit Omaha is a variation on the game Texas Hold’em. This variation is becoming increasingly popular as it provides an interesting way to play the game.

PLO, Pot Limit Omaha, means that a player cannot bet more than the value of the pot at that time, including their call. It differs greatly from no-limit Hold’em, in which players can bet any amount they want up to the size of their stack.

The biggest differences between Hold’em and Omaha are that:
In Omaha, the player is given 4 hole cards (meaning not community cards), unlike just two in Hold’em.
In Omaha, when you build your hand, you will use 2 hole cards and 3 community cards.

There are similarities as well. Just like Texas Hold’em, there are three positions that you need to be aware of, as it will determine your betting strategy. The games are similar as far as the betting action is concerned. The four betting streets include preflop, flop, turn, and river. Hand rankings are identical in the two games, as well. A Royal Flush is always the best possible hand.

In this video, I will show you an example scenario so that you can see exactly how this game is played out so that you can better understand the meaning and rules behind PLO Omaha. You will be able to enjoy this popular casino game in no time!

  1. Hi Dominic great content as always. Can you make a video and explain 3 betting? I dont understand Norm when watching WSOP how you can 3 bet when only 2 players are in the pot.

  2. I am a no limit holdem player for 10 years and I wanted to transition to Omaha PLO. This is a great intro video and I feel like I am ready to start playing this new variation of hold em

  3. Nice videos man, hoping to see more and wish you luck with your channel!

  4. You left out Player 4 & Player 5 either calling or folding the Pre-Flop raise made by Player 1. They only had their initial $10 call. You showed the Flop prematurely…

  5. Inaccurate around 9:50. The first player to act is not to the left of the big blind. First person to act is to the left of the button 🙈

  6. Bruh, did you just say after the flop that "statically speaking the pair of queens is the best hand"? Statistically they are a 3 to 1 dog at that flop. Don't learn plo from this guy.

  7. Quick question.. How come there isn't a mainstream 3 hole card game?? ". We have 2, 4 and even 5 card draw. Not seen a game with 3 cards. Not including pineapple BTW.
