  1. Couple of things to point out and question for @Bart as well.

    1) Bart you like to just call on the flop AhKs4h. How do you balance your raising range if you play combo draws passively? A4s (2), 44(3), will be the main combos of value for hero. How do you balance those 5 value combos with bluffs? KQh-KTh (3), QJh-QTh (2) and JTh (1). I think combo draws that block some of villains best AQ-AT combos are great for raising here and if villain shoves, likely have enough equity to call it off.

    2) On the river you (@Bart) mention how the board blocks most flushes, so vs UTG he can only have KhJh. A looser player will have some SCs 87h-65h (3). So beat 3 combos and lose to 1 combo. As played though, looks like hero has a flush, so I wouldn't expect too many passive players to raise here with a smaller flush. I like just calling the river despite villains smaller sizing here.

    3) you mentioned at higher stakes a 3bet on the river is necessary. What this leads to is a leveling war. If some how a high stakes player has KhQx for NF blocker, he can jam all in for say 300bb, now you hate life for 3betting. Against a MP or LP raiser where more smaller flushes are possible i.e 86h or J8h then I would like a small 3bet with nut flush as well as 2nd nut flush. Important not to use different sizings here, so if small 3bet does induce something from a higher stakes player, you'll still have nuts in your range, unless he does have NF blocker. Not a lot of sickos out there though, that will 4bet shove 300bb with just a blocker.

Well played overall, but raise the flop imo.

  2. Weird spot in live poker when villain overvalues rivered two pair. This type of spot confuses me sometimes. It looks like it should be the nuts or a bluff so you just call. Like if I put myself in villains shoes my two most likely raises on the river are KJhh and KhX.

  3. If you raise it another $100 to $200, you'll get the river call if you don't want to jam. 1-3 most will jam with the nuts and I'm not going to be afraid of 1 hand, KJh. How much will you lose playing it passively with the winning hand vs the times that the villain has the KJh and lose? Argue poker is skill, ok, but it's also gambling. This is a spot to extract as much as you can with a great hand. How many monsters are under your bed?
