Baccarat Rouge 540 IS Splurge Worthy (But You Can Enjoy It for Less)

Baccarat Tips Video Source & Information:

Why fragrance is important.

How one “smells” can leave a lasting impression on others, whether for good or bad. We’ve all probably experienced being overtaken by nausea or a headache when someone with a strong, overpowering scent walks into a room and sits beside us. It is awful. “Cheap cologne” actually refers more to how a fragrance smells (strong, overpowering, obnoxious) rather than how much it costs. No one likes for their olfactory senses to be bombarded with a bad smell. Finding a scent that you love (that will not overpower those around you) is important, especially if you are in contact with babies, folks who are ill, and those sensitive to strong smells.

Why I am obsessed with Baccarat Rouge 540.

I discovered Baccarat Rouge 540 while sampling fragrances a few years ago and was immediately overtaken by it and knew why it was more costly than most others. Baccarat Rouge 540 actually smells “expensive” and sophisticated; it is no ordinary fragrance. I get comments by two different types of people when they small my perfume: those who are fans and wear it themselves and those who want to know what I’m wearing so that they can buy for themselves!

Is Baccarat Rouge 540 Worth the Money?

Yes, Baccarat Rouge 540 is unlike any fragrance you have ever smelled. I was skeptical until I went to a fragrance counter at Saks and sampled it for myself. I’m rarely dumbfounded by something like a fragrance, but this one literally made me swoon.  The best way to test what I am saying is to see for yourself! Go to Saks, Neiman Marcus or any retailer that sells this, and sample it yourself. If you aren’t as blown away as I am by this scent, I’d love to hear from you!!

What makes Baccarat Rouge 540 so special?

Baccarat Rouge’s signature scent is truly unique. According to its website, it is “a luminous and intense fragrance with amber and woody floral notes, with a graphic and extremely condensed olfactory signature.”  My personal description would add that it is “intense yet subtle,” “elegant and sophisticated,” and “a perfect mixture of woody, spicy and sweet.”

What other fragrance smells like Baccarat Rouge 540?

It is impossible to find a “dupe” for this absolutely exquisite scent. The only fragrance that I have found that has a similar “quiet sophistication” that is not overpowering is Trish McEvoy No. 9 Blackberry Vanilla Musk. It is a mix of slightly woodsy/musk balanced with a sweet overtone of blackberry. I wore this fragrance for years (decades) before discovering Baccarat Rouge 540. It and the body cream are exquisite and far less of an investment.

How to Get Baccarat Rouge 540 for Less.

You can enjoy Baccarat Rouge 540 in various price ranges. The most expensive bottle is the “signature red” that holds the most volume and is the “perfume” that is most concentrated. There is a smaller bottle of the perfume that costs less but still offers the most concentrated fragrance. The fragrance comes in an eau de toilette, a body oil, and a body cream. I have ALL the above and love every one. I layer them on all pulse points and smell divine all day. My clothes retain the fragrance between washings (a good thing).

  3. I have the hair mist but will definitely try the body cream. A fragrance that I like, and I have been asked about several times, is Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Thank you for the interesting content, as always.
