  1. Not bad but not 100% accurate. Running count is one thing but true count is what’s really important. Using hi-lo (cards from 2-6 you +1, 7-9 are 0 and 10-A are -1) you use your running count and have to guess how many decks are left in the shoe and divide your running count by the amount of decks left in the shoe to get your true count. Essentially the further you get into the deck, the higher you want the running count to be. Learning how to perfectly count cards takes about 100 hours, a couple hours to memorize basic strategy, then a big chunk dedicated to learning how to keep the running count at a fast pace, because some dealers can be very fast in dealing and don’t want you the type to keep the running count. You gotta be able to keep the running count with all the distractions inside the casino. Then you gotta learn deck estimation, look at the discard tray and you should be able to tell how many decks you’ve gone through, the more accurate you are, the more better edge you get over the casino. You want to be able to quickly look at the discard tray and get to the nearest half a deck. For example you look and see there’s about 3 and 1/2 decks discarded, so you know theres about 2 and 1/2 decks left in the shoe (if it’s a 6 deck table like most games of BJ are) the last steps after that are being able to find out what a good range is, for example if you’ve got a 2k bankroll, how much you’re betting when you have a low true count (0-1) and then how much more you’re betting when you have a good true count. Then you gotta learn deviations, when to go against basic strategy depending on the true count.

I can’t really do it justice but if you have any questions then check out Colin from Blackjack Apprenticeship on YouTube, he taught me how to count cards

  2. FYI most casinos use more than 8 decks for black jack. And if you know a dirty casino they’ll take most the low cards so you’ll always bust

  3. Autoshufflers completely eliminate card counting. If a shoe is being used it matters how much of the shoe in play. Most casinos cut at around 70% which makes a count less reliable than if it's 80+%.

  4. That's the count . But you need the true count so you need to divide it by the remaining pack of cards . Higher bets when true count is high
