Welcome to the Ladbrokes blackjack fundamentals video.

The Fundamentals Of Blackjack

Blackjack is unlike most other casino games, as the objective is to beat the dealer. The other players around you are not your opponents.

There are two ways you can do this:
· Have a hand total higher than the dealer’s, without going over 21

· Have the dealer go over 21

Card Value

The value of each card is represented by the number printed on it.

The Blackjack Table

Each position is known as a BASE, and it is represented by a circle or rectangle. First base is located to the far right of the table.

This shows how much a blackjack (a total of 21 in your first two cards) pays out, usually 3:2.

This shows how much a win pays out, usually 2:1.

This shows the hand totals that the dealer must hit and stand on.

Player Decisions

Hit – This is asking for another card. If your hand total goes over 21, you bust out, meaning that you lose.

Stand – This is saying you don’t want any more cards, and you’re ready to see what the next player/dealer has.

Split – If you have a pair of cards with the same value, you can pay extra to split them into two separate bets.

Double down – this is a bet saying that you will take one more card only, and then stand. If you win, you will receive double the normal amount.
