Blackjack Stress Test: Never Bust #4

Blackjack Strategy Video Source & Information:

I switched to running the two shoes in series instead of parallel. Much less confusing for me. We won’t get to see how the shoes realign or compare chip stacks as the shoes progress, but that’s a reasonable sacrifice for fewer mistakes.
—–
Six-deck heads-up blackjack comparing “never bust” to basic strategy.
Dealer stands on all 17s. No surrender. Blackjack pays 3:2.
One shoes. ~75% penetration.

The “Never Bust” strategy always stands with a hard 12 or greater.
Each strategy plays off its own shoe, which are exact copies of each other (card values only).
For this series I am not going to show the complete shuffle procedure. As exciting as I know it is for you to watch, it’s far less exciting to watch me set up the second shoe as a copy. I hope I have earned your trust that I am not stacking the deck.

Each player starts with 50 chips.
Flat bet player bets 1 chip per hand.

Table minimum: 1 chip. Table Maximum: 100 chips. This would be the equivalent of a $5/$500 table.

You can also use this (and forthcoming future videos) as a representative scenario to test your betting system or card counting.

I am not a pro dealer, so be nice.

  1. Stop trying to defend yourself against ignorant/guy comments. Don't justify them with a defense. You are not promoting ANY system. There is no incentive to stack the deck or to do any other thing. Morons will be morons in spite of any offering of defense. Screw the guys.

  2. I'd count Never Bust at -15 for that round, as the cut card meant that final hand shouldn't of been played, so shouldn't of been a loss… Other than that…. cool (but do miss the mirror aspect)

  3. Certainly NOT flat betting is a way to look for profit. And having a realistic target you are aiming for. When/if it is reached then it is time to walk away. Playing infinitly on your "luck" always ends with a bust

  4. If this testing satisfies some curiosity, then it's not waste of time. My only concern about it is; others may take this as proof of either strategy, even though it is recognized that it shouldn't. Even basic strategy alone is a losing approach, in the long term. We can only hope it ends up somewhat reflecting the mathematical probabilities, and showing a loss (more so for Never Bust). Maybe, after your testing is complete, you may like to consider researching and testing counting strategy, which actually has a mathematical advantage for the player. You obviously are willing to put in the effort to test these other ideas, which is good, since card counting does take a lot of effort and practice to be effective. I gave two great sources in my other comments, and you can find reviews for many more books on blackjack on Wizard of Odds website. Several of those recommended by him I have read myself. They all agree, and have proven, that counting is a winning strategy. I can tell you it works, from my personal experience, but definitely do not trust my word; trust the experts.

  5. oh you should run some shoes where you don't risk busting yourself unless the dealer shows a 7 or an ace

An ace – the dealers going to make a hand like 9 times outta 10

and the 7 – the dealer will likely have 17 but there's more cards that can help a stiff hand

  6. You're doing great man. A ton of work goes into these videos. You save us all the time to run tests. These are also very entertaining. Luv this channel. Keep up the awesome work man!

  7. in every casino I play on a player bj and only hand, the dealer doesnt play out the hand. just shows the down card then discards. Your point is right, if there are other hands yes the dealer plays it out. casino house rules I play in, a natural BJ is a win even if dealer pulls 21.
