6 Bets To Never Make in a Casino!

Blackjack Tips Information & Video Source:

Steve and Matt Bourie, from the American Casino Guide, discuss six of the worst bets you can make in a casino. They explain why these bets are dumb and, if possible, how a similar bet can be made with much better odds for the player. Topics covered include: Big 6 and Big 8 on the craps table; the 5-number bet on a double-zero roulette wheel, only betting 4 coins on video poker; splitting 10’s in blackjack; the any 7 bet on the craps table; and not betting max coins on a wide-area progressive slot machine.

  1. Wow that was a good video guys. I have 25 years gaming experience in Vegas. Everything you said was true. Well done.

  2. Sorry I am an dealer at a casino. The don't bets are true. Every thing they have said is true. On the any 7 bet is on of the worst best in the casino. If you bet the pass line if no point is established than the pass line wins. Once a point is established pass line loses. The come bets will win. You can also ask for hopping 7s they get paid 15 to one if you have $3 hope the 7s. You will get $12 if do that. Hopping bets are a one roll bet now.

  3. I always though taking blackjack insurance on a dealers Ace was the worst bet in a casino…

  4. Any variation where you have 2 units on the ace-deuce and 1 unit each on the high and low….versus 4 units on the any-crap, instead. (missing out on the extra unit if the high low hits)

Casino that offers half back on a bet when the zeroes hit, betting that bet versus betting all of those corresponding (for example, if they give half back on black, betting all 18 black numbers inside is worse than just betting 18 dollars on black).

Taking down a don't pass/don't come bet instead of just placing the opposite side (if you think it will lose, better to hedge it then to take it down, you can always turn off the place bet, but you can never put the dp/dc back after you take it away).

  5. I've watched some of your videos and they're not right you tell people to split eights when there's an eight showing it's not a good idea you tell people to double down on 11 even if there's a 10 showing when they shouldn't

  6. Add this to your list. I'm a table games dealer in Las Vegas. They now have a triple zero wheel at Planet Hollywood. Not only does this increase the house edge even more, but they have a bet on the layout that pays 11 to 1 if any zero hits. You can place any 3 number bet at any casino with a double zero wheel and get those same odds, but with one less number on the wheel. Talk about a sucker bet. Sheesh!
