  1. Ive been gambling, I somehow won the keys to a Nice old Ferrari Monza SP2 at The Grande Casino in Monaco.

  2. I am dissatisfied they never tackled about drawdown and the maximun losestreak/winstreak a 50/50 winrate can have.
They could have elaborated it more.
    Such a wasted opportunity Numberphile.

  3. Funny how such a basically intelligent person maims its body to this degree. Guess that's down to psychological issues.

  4. The 36.8% chance of doubling your money is slightly misleading in that if it fails (63.2% of the time) you will have still won a number of times before you failed, so you won't be left with nothing. Its not an all or nothing situation.

  5. There is a way to have a slim statistical advantage over the house, but it requires patience and discipline. The key is bankroll management (Set a specific amount you're willing to risk each day and a point to walk away) and to reset after the third loss every time. In American roulette with two greens, you have a 47.4% chance of hitting on the first spin, which nets +1. The odds of missing the first spin and hitting the second are 24.9%, again +1. The odds of two misses followed by a hit are 13.1%, +1. So, if you add those up, you have an 85.4% chance of winning within the first three spins, winning +1, and a 14.6% chance of losing 7. The plan, then is to reset to betting one after every win and every third loss. If my calculations are correct (and please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not a mathematician), that yields a roughly 2.2% statistical edge against the house without ever having to bet more than $7. Of course, to be useful as a strategy, you'd need to play large enough stakes to make it worth your time.

  6. I use the martingale successfully for baccarat with a slight adjustment.
$⁵, $⁴,$³,$² or instead of just doubling down I triple down. I also come with enough money to cover my loss.
