Are you in the game? I’ll leave you with this. I live in Las Vegas. I love Las Vegas, but I am not a gambler. And the game of craps just mystifies me. I don’t understand it. But, I’ve never taken the time to learn it. So I went to a fundraiser with a friend who was putting this fundraiser together in Beverly Hills. And I was just there to support my friend. Had no particular agenda at the fundraiser so I sat and watched a man at the craps table to try and figure out the game.

So I sat on the side of the table, and I watched what he was doing. And in-between when no one was at the table, I would ask questions. I would say, why are they doing that? Why are they betting that way? I was trying to figure out the game. Well, this little old lady. She had these little old arthritis hands that reminded me of my grandmother. She shuffled up to the table, but she had this scowl on her face. She looked up to me and she said, “What are you doing?” I said, “I’m trying to learn craps. I’m observing, watching, and asking questions.”

And she said, “Get in the game! You’ll learn faster!”

“I don’t even know how to bet yet. I’m still trying to learn. But I will I promise I will.”

“Get in the game!”

It was like my grandmother was there. And being Catholic, growing up with guilt, I felt so guilty that I started putting money in just to shut her up. But when I put that money in, I learned faster. She was right.

If you don’t start building your list now, don’t worry what you’re going to do with it. Just start building it. Touching it. And serving it.

I don’t know what that little old lady’s name was. But I know if she was hear right not, she would tell you “Get in the game!”
