Does the benchmark apply for the dark side for an avoidance of a different number other than the 7, say the 9?
When I make a Don’t Pass bet and also bet a Lay 9 that is double the amount of the Don’t Pass bet, then all I have to do is avoid the 9 and 11 to lose, and the 7 wins immediately. If any other numbers show then I have a don’t pass established and I take down the Lay bet.
From there I have a ton of options.

I could hedge bet by place betting a few numbers as long as that amount is under the don’t pass amount.
The focus of what I want to do is keep the 7 strong for every roll. Another way to say that is when the 7 gets rolled, then it’s not going to hurt me.
I’m sure you have heard me say that I throw the 6/2 6/2 dice set that has no 9’s (or 5’s) on axis.
I believe if ANY player can stay on axis the majority of the time, then even when your off axis you have the odds dramatically in your favor not to hit the 9.
You only need one roll to get past and you take the Lay 9 down, after that, you can hit as many nine’s as you wish.
