8. no doubt, the short game will keep you solvent. although the long rolls are more infrequent, you don't want to miss out on them when they do come around. if you can get back your initial investment on every shooter, then it makes better sense to stay in the game and position yourself for a long roll since you're on "house money" anyway. at that point you can press or collect every bet to your comfort level and score the big hit. that's how I try to play.
