☕️ The Hedgeless Horseman Craps Strategy – Right Side (Coffee and Craps #19)

Craps Strategy Video Information:

What makes the Hedgeless Horseman one of the best craps strategies? It inherently lets you go right side on a hot shooter or go dark side when the table gets ugly. Today, we’ll explore some of the “Right Side” options.

While we’re at it … we just need to fix that one (really big) hole, Tune in to see how that goes

☕️ Welcome to Coffee and Craps where I regularly live stream craps strategy practice, continuing to build up my 401(g) account. Starting with $5,000 .. building up that bankroll day by day. I treat this just like a trip to the casino (but with commentary)

==================== TODAYS STRATEGY ====================

Come Out Roll: $25 Don’t Pass
3 Successive $25 Come Bets

We’re going to simulate a hot table and make some on the fly adjustments to the basic strategy accordingly. What are the possibilities?

1. Place $44 inside after the come out roll. Allow the Come bets to knock those down, so you can earn some profits as they get set. This eases the strain on the come out 7, as you would have collected earnings

2. Use the come bet winnings, when they come, to become place bets that you can press, regress, or pull down. These bets effectively become risk-free, paid for bets

3. Take odds on the come bets as they get set, turning the 3 come bets that are part of the core strategy into a “3 point Molly”

==================== SESSION SUMMARY ====================

I have an older neoprene layout (1/8″) that I’ve put under my layout to simulate what I’m seeing there. I’m not getting the high bounces that I saw at the casino, but definitely seeing the same sort of overspin and kick off the wall.

So, I’m doing a smaller bankroll with a less risky strategy to see how I can adjust before I go back with real $$.

Using my “fake” 401(g) account the way I’d use my real one. Given an uncertain outcome, I’m reducing my buy-in and going to a less risky strategy until I can settle in.

Enjoy …

  1. Thanks John, I like that you are working through the weak points of this strategy, because I agree that it has potential to be a good basis for starting play when you arrive at a table. I have a few questions regarding some things you said during this video though. Please take this as constructive feedback, because I do understand how difficult it must be to present a live Youtube telecast and I have nothing but respect and gratitude for all that the Craps nation community on Youtube provides.

    At about the 7.30 minute mark you said that if you had 3 $25 come bets set on inside numbers, it was a vulnerable point for the strategy (agreed), but then you said you were no more at risk than a $44 inside player. Let’s break that down, the way I see it is that you have $75 less the $25 DP at risk, so $50 risk, but the $44 inside player has already collected 3 x $14 ($42), so now has only $2 at risk.  Am I missing something here?

    At about the 13.30 minute mark you compared a $12 place bet on the 8 using press and collect to a $25 come bet that travelled to the 8 and then repeated, then a 7 hit. You said that the come bet did better because it netted $25 and the place bet only netted $18. When I compare them I find that the come bet turned $25 into $50 for 100% profit, but the place bet turned $12 into $30 for 150% profit. You then went on to say that if the come bet player then placed the 8 for $30 he would have that for only $5 investment, agreed, but then you stated that the $24 place bet was there for a $12 investment. I disagree, isn’t that a fully free bet with a further $18 profit fully locked in?

    Later in the video at about the 41.30 minute mark you had just been knocked off on a point of 10 and placed a new $25 DP bet then rolled a 5, you moved both the On button and the $25 DP chip to the 5 so it looked like a $25 come bet 5, then when the 5 hit you paid the $25 as if it actually was a come bet.

    Again, thanks for what you are doing and please continue. Cheers. Rob

  2. "Never press your place bets till their paid for. " Great advice. Craps is a war and your chips are the soldiers. Many are the times I've seen pressing of the place bets till there are tons of soldiers on the felt, only to see the enemy 7 come along and destroy all in its path. Man, the things I've seen. Craps is war. You don't even want to know the things I've seen.

  3. I rolled the strategy out at home with 5 random shooters. $500 bank roll. $25 Don't pass and then 3 $25 come bets. Once I got 3 numbers up I laid $100 on the 4 or 10. If one of my come numbers hit, I would pull the lay bet and go back in the come. Come out and Come craps and 7/yo average each other out so if i needed to I would dip into profit to go back into come if I ran out of the 4 units for the shooter. I ended up with $275 profit after the 5 shooters. I like it and will play with it more. I think the $100 lay is crucial it is a good hedge. Seven after point with each successive bet is Win 2, Win 1, Break even, Hedge to break even, back into come to possible break even again. Meanwhile you have points up from the comes that should be hitting. I think I like this strategy better than the come ladder.

  4. Excellent presentation of various ways to change with the table , outstanding actually. I will be saving this, watching again, making notes and practicing.

  5. And with a come-out roll and 3 units of come bets on points out there, I would definitely be doing either a DC or a lay 4 or 10 if worried a seven was looming.

  6. After watching this again I can see the value of the limit of 4 units per shooter. On Friday at the casino I got into a bad habit of chasing or trying to cover the bets left out there with lay bets on the 4 or 10. Some poor decisions and bad luck on those lay bets I reached my stop loss limit. At practice over the weekend I corrected those errors for 4 of 5 being winning sessions.

  7. It’s been my experience that a table will trend to the right after come out 7 or 11 and or points of either 4 or 10 made.
    Obviously dice have no memory and trends only exist if you write them down….

  8. What you could do is bet a 25$ passline bet so you win on all the comeout 7 & 11s ! After a point is established go through the don't come with 25$ ! You get your 2 don't come bets set a 7 don't hurt you you actually win 25$! Then go through the come with 25$ twice! If you hit a 7 on either of them you win money!And if you hit your point you win as well! If your don't come bets are still up on the next shooter a 7 wins on all 3

  9. I found a stronger way for the headless horseman strategy use the DC after you make a come. One don't pass, 2 place bets, one come and continuous DC. The place bets is is move around where it hasn't been hit
