Hop Bets – Craps

Craps Strategy Video Information:

Hop Bets – Craps This is a video that covers the hop bets or hopping bets in the game of craps. A hop bet is a one roll bet that a certain combination of the dice appear. I cover the house edge, the hop bet payouts and how to make a hop bet. Not all casinos even have hop bets printed on their layout, but a lot will still accept hop bets.

  1. Hey I've been watching your videos for awhile now. I play craps when I can and i usually use the 3 point molly as it is my favorite strat and tend to pay pretty well (not so much these last 2 times but that's craps ;P ). However, alot of your strategies involve a very high bank roll $100+ min usually and you always play assuming the table is $5 minimum. I actually play at a $1 minimum table and usually play with $20- $40. I was just wondering if you would ever make a video talking about $1 base tables and strategies that work well on them hopefully with a smaller bank roll? If you have done so already and I somehow missed it while watching I apologize haha.

  2. I like playing 64 across on a $10 table. I work my come out roll. After my first hit I’ll press $22 inside (+$5 on the 5 and 9 and +$6 on the 6 and 8). After the second hit I’ll press the 6 and 8 +$6 each one last time. After my 3rd hit, I’ll take my bets down. Net profit is between $50 and $67 per roll if you pull down after the 3rd hit. Sometimes I’ll press if my day is going well. The upside isn’t amazing, but I’ve found this is a good way to stay at the table for hours and walk away with some of the casino’s money

  3. @color up, can you try this strategy? No pass or dont pass bet… place 66 inside. 4 and 10 combos hopping ($4) with a $4 horn bet for a total bet of $74. Its basically a variation of the inside numbers with a field except you win more. Lets call it the "74-hop". Use only on a $10 min table.

    2 hits – $30–$7 = $23
    3 hits- $15 -$7 = $8
    4 hits – $15-$7 = $8 (3-1)or $30-$7=$23 (hardaway 4)
    5 hits – $21-$8 =$13
    6 hits – $21-$8= $13
    8 hits – $21- $8 = $13
    9 hits – $21 – $8 = $13
    10 hits – $15-$7 = $8 (6-4) or $30-$7 = $23 (Hardaway 10)
    11 hits – $15 -$7 =$8
    12 hits – $30-$7 = $23

Of course obviously this strategy only works if the seven doesn't roll but the main point of the strategy is regressing/pulling down after 3-4 rolls to just the inside numbers but this strategy rewards you more for the rare 2 and 12 and the random 4 and 10 hardaways that can come to help boost your win totals while betting less money to do it.

One could argue why not just bet the inside numbers and the field? Well if you bet $5-10 on the field and your inside numbers roll you could only make $18-$11-$ if 5,6,8,9 hits losing that $5-$10 field bet and win only $5-$10 on 3,11 $10-$20 on the 2. You would only win more on the 12 if placing a $10 field bet that pays triple (depending on the table). Now look above to what you win, why not just offset the $2 extra dollars you make on the 3 and the 11 placing a field bet for a higher pay out on the 2,4,10 and 12 with a one time bet that you'll be replacing anyways like a field bet when it loses?

Yes this strategy is crazy, PSO kills this strategy and you would want to use it on yourself or a hot shooter, you'd need to hit 4-6 times to recoup your money your betting but thats why you pull after 4-6 wins. If you hit a 2($23), a 12 ($23) an 8($21) and a 6 ($21) and the shooter craps out you push. But if youre betting only $66 inside and only the 6 and 8 come then the shooter sevens out you're losing $24 and you'll need another two hits on the next shooter just to get back to even.

  4. What is the max bet on the hops?? This question nobody seems to know. If im on a $1000 max bet table, does that include the HOPS?

  5. The closest casino to me just became legal for live craps but, they don't allow hop bet.

  6. I like to hop 7 on the comeout if it hits I parlay and if back to back win 60$ on a 3$ bet

  7. saw a player once just play Hop bets. he knew nothing of craps. he felt Hop betting was more exciting than slot machines. he also said there were no betting restrictions or minimums. what was funny is most other players thought he was a full blown craps player.
