  1. Great content on this video! I wasn't particularly great at skill based games, but I think the evolution of the slot floor to increase traffic is great, but I am sure there will always be some good variety. I am so glad that you asked about the safe guard with this regulation. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  2. A thought comes to mind….1. Say someone is skilled enough to consistently get a 98% payback2. That someone has a Players Club card that has a base comp of 0.3%3. That someone also gambles only on days that their casino offers 7x points on Players Card, akin to how Henry Tamburin says he plays VP in a previous ACG video Theoretically, that person could become an advantage slot player.

  3. So a MLG pro gamer could play this Frogger game and win the Maxi Jackpot every time he triggered that bonus feature? I am interested in knowing how the RNG is involved in stopping that from happening. Watching this video, it looked like the objects on the screen were a set pattern. My guess is that it is designed similar to the "Stacker" prize game where each level you complete makes it increase in speed and/or the last level is nearly impossible.

  4. Here's a very interesting article about the new regulations being put into place for skill based slot machines in Atlantic City. http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/breaking/dge-issues-skill-based-gaming-regulations/article_c441f530-da4e-11e5-b836-9304d6ad44d3.html

  5. On the one hand, this allows for game manufacturers to innovate and take advantage of modern technology. On the other hand, this allows casinos to lower the baseline payback for all of their skill-based machines, relative to the games that require no skill. Instead of a $1 slot paying back 92%-94%, it will pay back, say, 88%, but with the ability to achieve 94% if you have the ability. That's fun and exciting if you have the skills, but not so much if you don't.

  6. The bottom line:

This will only benefit the casinos – the odds tilt in the Casinos favor, every time and it will bring in 'skill-based' players, but ultimately the games will still be slot-based.

Any players that manage to find ways to tilt the odds in their favor will be banned and the casino will flex the odds back in their favor through their program developers.

  7. I have actually seen some of these machines outside of Las Vegas, I'm here in North Dakota and at Dakota Magic Casino which is a tribal Casino they actually have an Atari centipede machine where when one hits the bonus they actually play the arcade game to determine the amount of the bonus ect

  8. so say somebody is the master of a frogger type game,, they can just basically go play it all the time and rack up millions. I smell bade.

  9. Oh man I would crush Frogger! Please put out a Donkey Kong skill slot! I'll become a millionaire.
