Yes, it’s possible to become a millionaire playing poker, yet not very likely. Most of the poker players you see on television made their money through branding, network deals, and being in the right place at the right time.

However, there are millionaire poker players out there. The question is whether or not they’re capable of remaining millionaire poker players. Every poker player goes through downswings. It all depends how unflappable that player is off the felt when those downswings happen.

On the other hand, once you get your name out there, it’s pretty easy to get staked, which can get you back in the game. I don’t recommend that route unless it’s an emergency.

If you want to get involved in the poker world, then you should definitely consider the business side as a fallback. Some of the best poker players started as poker dealers. This way, you can play poker without worry. That’s going to lead to you being a much better poker player.
