I'm not sure your reasoning on the Qh8h hand is good. When the flop doesn't favor your range like it's the case here you aren't incentivized to downbet, you want to bet the flop less often and so you can use a bigger sizing when you do bet because you're more polarized. On top of that, it's a dynamic board (not particularly wet but the turn is very likely to change the value of most of your hands) which means that you benefit from protection a lot more. For those two reasons combined I expect you're supposed to bet this very big unless you have an exploitative reason to do something else.
