The commentator in the first clip (Kaufman JJ) was terrible. He clearly watched the clip, saw the outcome, then based his commentary around the result. I believe that there were other ways the hand could have been played but also that the line he took was fine vs the entire range of hands his opponent could have had.
I don't think the raise with 33 is that horrible. You get floats from lots of overpairs and if I was playing AK there, I'm definitely floating. Especially AK of clubs, where you unblock A5s backdoor flush draw, which is his most likely bluff. To me, someone raising there from the small blind looks very sus. You'd expect them to slowplay boats & quads, so it looks far more likely that they're just making a move. Which is why I like the raise.
I think what’s thought about pocket quads is that people expect trips a lot. But having 3 aces out on the flop should be an easy pickup. Especially when opponents has kings jesus
