Cash Game Poker Strategy: How to (mis)play small pocket pairs OOP

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

Another cash game poker hand for analysis including bottom pocket pair out of position and the question how to play them both preflop and postflop. Today’s Hand of the Day features a hand that I got from my reader through Hello Alec series. I explain each street and possible line in details. For more cash game strategy and exact math on this hand head over to my blog here: http://www.alectorelli.com/should-i-hero-call-with-bottom-pair/

Any time this is the case be wary. If you’re fudging the numbers looking for a reason to justify calling, chances are you’re not picking your spots well 

The most important element is the process. As you can see, accurately estimating your opponents range is crucial in order to making effective decisions. Every other step in the process is contingent on that one key assumption.

If you’d like to know the process I’ve used for years to accurately put my opponents on a hand and make profitable decisions at the poker table, click here http://www.alectorelli.com/the-four-steps-to-beating-anyone-at-poker/

  1. This guy turned his hand into a bluff on the turn but called down with it on the river. loveing retarded. I feel like his guy only sent it to Alec because he thought he made a God like play but he's retarded

  2. this is why i dont play GTO, it assumes the other players are playing GTO as well…this guy wins the pot with unorthodox play vs someone else playing unorthodox play

  3. I really hate that black and white side-angled camera shot of Torelli. So pretentious and obnoxious.

  4. So Alec to summarise his play, it was misguided. A bit like your selection of this video to showcase. IMHO.
