Daniel ‘KidPoker’ Negreanu faces a very strange min bet on the river by Ali Imsirovic. In this video I discuss the poker strategy you should use when facing min-bets and how to counter them!

Negreanu stands the hand by raising preflop with pocket eights and Ali Imsirovic defends the big blind. The hand plays out fairly straightforward from there until they both reach the river and then Ali decides to min-bet for just over 10% pot!

  1. All 3 between strong medium and weak mainly medium mixed with some strong and some weak

  2. When Ali makes a bet of this sizing its usually marginal hands looking to see cheap river mixed with some nuts and bluffs to balance his range.

  6. 4:45 I'd say weak value, usually, so is that medium overall because only bluffs are truly weak? Occasionally a nutty hand hoping for a raise. Occasionally a bluff, but GTO they have to be very rare at this size.

  7. 9:00 If we're talking blockers, Daniel does block both busted flush draws, which is a small factor against bluff catching.

  8. I think the better question is how MUCH should we bet if we decide to turn 8s into a bluff?
