  3. modern poker downswings are so much more tolerable because of the calculation of "Expected Value" and "All In Equity"……..one can judge ones performance with less variance;

    in the old days, there was no validation for downswings;

  4. Yeah but you dont know how many aces are really bent in my local card room. I've proved it.

  5. I averaged $5k over 7 months at the Taj back in the day (mid 90s), but one month I broke even–had almost every hand cracked–but next month I made $10k playing 10/20 and 15/30 limit…go figure.
