Many poker players aspire to achieve what Ethan Yau, better known as Rampage Poker, has accomplished since entering the poker scene just a few years ago.

Only 24 years old, Rampage has compiled a list of poker accomplishments many Texas Hold’em players would aspire to merely get close to. Not only has Rampage won four World Series of Poker Circuit rings, he has also won a WSOP bracelet in an online poker tournament as well as a Poker Masters series event.

Today, I dissect the poker strategy that makes Rampage Poker one of the best young, up-and-coming poker players on the scene. Reviewing hands from his recent win in the Poker Masters, I share what Rampage does well from a professional poker player’s point of view.

  1. Nobody said it was a thing? It’s just the hands that are not quite good enough to raise call we want to use as jams e.g. if we have 22 or A8o or JTs on the button 20bb deep we can just jam them instead.

  2. If you had to pick one book for getting better at small stakes tournaments, what would it be?

  3. I personally felt that Jonathan was a little biased by the cards being exposed (either due to relaxation or trying to appeal to potential subscribers).

I never like the bet with the pair of 6s, the only conceivable hand you can get called with that you beat is exactly J high AND nothing that beats you folds, was a poker 101 fundamental mistake (assuming your opponent is anywhere near competent). Everyone makes mistakes while playing poker tournaments but for Little to like that bet is ridiculous.

Entertaining but far from his best educational work
