  1. Why can't the Villain ( ever ) check the turn behind with 52? Wouldnt that be an interesting check if that could possibly induce a bet from Hero on a blank River?

  2. I'd say the lead out is bad at full pot on the flop, but for a completely different reason than what Bart suggest here. Being the nut low w/blockers to other nut lows I'd bet less to keep one or two in w/mediocre highs or marginal lows here. That way we build the pot when our low maintains and can blast people off at the end or make it very difficult for them to call with Marginal Highs, and also control the pot size the occasional times our low gets Counterfeited.

I don't like the automatic assumption that we're up against the absolute nuts here.. We still have to put players on a correct range, which sure we don't know yet, and sure there are some 25's .. but to think worst case scenario -235 automatically when we have 233 here is a stretch. Not to not be aware of it of course, but that's why I play as mentioned above in this spot. Build the pot intending to take it away later as we gather info w/our betsizing and by driving the flow of the hand. Sure slow the f down if someone repots and such but… Seems advice feels over cautious to me here..

  3. Tough hand… Which is why folding pre is best. You are not quite robust enough to put in so much in this bad position.

I am not so certain BB has a wheel. What hands call you. Sure 235 calls (or maybe raises), but you have blockers to that. It is far more likely she has a set, Aces up or even 75xx. Most hands with 25 and no 3 should fold (though some fish will call in that spot also) Yes.. all of those are bad calls in PLO8, but a whole lot of players don't know better.

So…I pot the turn and call a raise since the higher straight might raise me unless I can be pretty sure she would have folded 75xx with no deuce.

As the hand played out, I expect your opponent had 35 or 2 pair, both of which are bad calls on this flop.

As for the pot bet on the flop….? I like it because I am never getting away from this hand unless a 2 falls and I want stupid hands like A6 to fold or pay for the privilege of letting me free roll their dumb ass. Fish call these flops way too often with high hands or bad lows Make them pay. If 25xx wants to chase, make it pay the whole toll.

The tough thing is what to do if I am raised on the flop? I think I have to call. What can they have that I am afraid of? A23x? Seems unlikely unless the player doing the raising is both very tight and basically never raises pre flop. With my stack size and some middling high outs, I just cannot lay it down to a raise. I might even be facing 235x and be leading.

I suppose I could check the flop and try to get paid off on later streets, but that makes it too easy for someone to make a high that they would have folded to a pot sized flop bet. That plan also induces calls from hands like Aces up, which I probably don't want even though I have a bit of a free roll.
