Rob Singer – Video Poker Strategy Hand # 01

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

Rob is probably the most controversial video poker player known because he does not necessarily follow the “math” of the game 100% of the time, and he will deviate from what others consider to be the correct strategy dictated by the “math” of the game.

Rob Singer says his “play strategy is 95% based on the math and perfect play.” But “perfect play” is not enough for him and for you to make you a winner. Singer is more concerned about “short term play” because in reality, he says, we are all short term players. “And it is only because of the math and what it tells me in the short-term (which is how everyone only and always plays) that dictates these special play deviations — which are all the result of risk analyses performed during the stragety’s development.”

Over the next few weeks we will be presenting here videos with Rob Singer explaining his strategy as well as specific hands in video poker that his strategies will apply to. This will be updated from time to time as we meet with Rob, discuss various video poker hands, and as he applies his strategies to different video poker games. And if you have a comment, please discuss it on our “Las Vegas Forum.”

  1. If you want to shoot for royals, then hold royal / suited royal cards. If the play is sub-optimal, you'll hit more royals but lose moe money. Want to lose less money? Play optimally, even if it reduces your royal count. The advice in this video is extraordinarily bad, but all system sellers need a pitch.

  2. This guy might as well play slots as the opportunity to hit the jackpot is the same each spin so there is potential as he states.. He only holds the ace watch his videos their guyic odds of hitting 4 aces with kicker are 1/14,000+ odds of a royal 1/48,000+ If you only hold the ace and don't go for optimal push plays then you will be down much more or equal to the 2000 dollar hit of aces with kicker if it even occurs, and when it does happen your even or down so essentially he's playing for a push!! Odds of hitting running quads aren't good so if you just hold the ace it's up there in the one in thousands range. He has some points that sometimes it's better to hold a king with no penalty cards vs k/j but I have found it's much better to go for gut shots straights on mute boards vs holding the ace.
