Rob Singer – Video Poker Strategy Interview

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

Rob is probably the most controversial video poker player known because he does not necessarily follow the “math” of the game 100% of the time, and he will deviate from what others consider to be the correct strategy dictated by the “math” of the game.

Rob Singer says his “play strategy is 95% based on the math and perfect play.” But “perfect play” is not enough for him and for you to make you a winner. Singer is more concerned about “short term play” because in reality, he says, we are all short term players. “And it is only because of the math and what it tells me in the short-term (which is how everyone only and always plays) that dictates these special play deviations — which are all the result of risk analyses performed during the stragety’s development.”

Over the next few weeks we will be presenting here videos with Rob Singer explaining his strategy as well as specific hands in video poker that his strategies will apply to. This will be updated from time to time as we meet with Rob, discuss various video poker hands, and as he applies his strategies to different video poker games. And if you have a comment, please discuss it on our “Las Vegas Forum.”

  1. bull bad….no games in casino will let u win money……the odds are stacked against u……those ppl who watch this video and believe video poker will make u rich is stupid

  2. the only even game is playing real poker on a poker table where everyone have the same advantage and no house edge

  3. You forgot about the take there buddy… Most games are very difficult to beat the rake depending the casino.

  4. But if your not part of a casino club member. You need to be. If your at a 98% machine and have 4% comps.
Hey your at 102%.You have the edge.

  5. This guys strategy is way to gusto he must understand the math or maybe he doesn't? Simply 4 aces no kicker on double bonus has a cycle of 5759.6, quads at 2-3-4 no kick is 2601.4 That's awful this is the average cycle it takes to hit such hands.

  6. I somehow came onto this again and agree about his implied odds, but he is forgetting about losses and negating it into big wins. Assume he plays a session on db,dbl bonus and has lots of hands that he feels has the ''opportunity'' to hit big. Ok so he holds the ace often and just strikes out a ton and goes down 240 credits. Ok so he jumps to another game hits a pair gets 4 of a kind and wins 400 that's +160. Big wins are worthless without float Assume you walked in played a game one time and hit 800 quads perfect max profit go home unlikely. With his strategy your variance will be huge with only maybe 20 more tries and crazy luck. Holding one ace and have it go runner quads or boat is so unlikely. For me i'd rather be down 50 and hit 400 vs his -300 and busto strategy, unless he hits. Using this I just cant see anyone being able to play very long they would be down miles very fast, were talking 500 to 800 credits very fast, thus the math guys play perfect with less opportunity and are down 100. I play the big games to flop a pair of aces or 2 pair for the higher paying full house and just bonus deluxe for all pairs that hit at 400,then float to jacks or better for 2 pairs at a plus. Really holding an ace is the correct play often, but this is why it's such a bad game the odds of that doing anything are remote.
