This POKER Hand BLEW My Mind!

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

I am joined by PokerCoaching coach Tristan Wade and we discuss the many variables that you should consider when playing in any poker hand!

The hand took place in a $1,000 World Series Of Poker Freezeout event. The bubble had just burst meaning that all players were now in the money (ITM) which slightly changes the dynamic. The payout jumps are fairly meaningless at the beginning which means that players will tend to play more aggressively to try and build a large stack.

Tristan discusses how he adapts his poker strategy according to the opponent in the hand as well as the stage in which the tournament is at. This is a vital skill that all poker players must learn. One size does not fit all if you want to be one of the best professional poker players in the world!

  1. What would YOU do on the river with Q♥ J♦?

    Your Stack (CO): 173,000

    Their Stack (BB): 163,000

    Pot: 223,000

    Board: T♦ 8♥ 3♠ 5♣ 2♠

    BB bets 100,000

    A) Fold

    B) Call

    C) Raise 173,000 (all-in)

  2. Not sure you have a “solid” 10 outs. Many hands when your opponent has a ten as you say, he also has a 9 or J taking away an out, and occasionally TQ, and occasionally raises with T8.

  3. This is exactly my point about the Robbi hand!! When you make the killer hero call with Q HIGH and it is good—you get out of your chair and scream!! WHOOOO!! I got u sucka!!!

But what did Robbi do? Looked like she wanted to crawl under her chair!! That’s how you react when you know your call was ridiculous and everyone’s gonna know u cheated, and you won’t be able to explain what you were thinking because what you actually were thinking was “But I got the signal that my hand was high!!!”
