  1. Have you won any poker tournaments? Also, check out my other video on the top 10 hands that are costing you money! (avoid these) https://youtu.be/K07I8IrRrTU

  2. He’s wrong when he says build you chip stack early as chips won in early stages is not as much as chips lost as the blinds go up then it matters

  3. Minimum wage is 7.25. 7.25 x 8 = 58. $100>$58. Also, LAG, I find this highly questionable. Maybe the 1 person in 5 that plays that way comes out with more chips, the others go home early.

  4. Yes.

    I completely agree.

A very good reminder on how to win MTTs.

And there's no point in saying twice that those "aggro-morons" who open 60% of hands on EP1, then cbet and raise entire tables with nothing – often WIN tournaments. They just believe in luck, and the luck turns to them.

And a long-run approach is almost useless in MTTs, because only bots are able to go this long run to realize the EV to its full extent.

  5. On #5 seems to be the trend that if one player declines to chop they become the 🎯 . Unfortunate but true.
I hate chopping but evaluating others at the table should also be another factor. If I am outmatched the chop is probably profitable but enjoy the “challenge”.
Final table opportunities to gain experience are difficult to achieve but oh so valuable in so many ways.

  6. Playing for the win might sell products, but it is wrong. The correct approach is to maximize EV. That could mean going for the win, but that probably won't be the case all the time. At a bare minimum, less aggressive strategies need to be considered and analyzed. Dimply advising folks to get busy with 64s is probably not going to serve them well. Why no deals? The correct "deal" can be calculated via the iCM. If you can get a better deal, you should take it. I do agree that too many players get too conservative around the bubble and that this can be exploited with a more LAG style than the ICM would be likely to suggest.

  7. The other thing that many players forget is the constantly increasing blinds. In a cash game the blinds are static; in a tournament they are dynamic and require that you play to the blinds. You can't do that by being conservative.

  8. Very good points! I do not play many tournaments because of time. But this reminds me of a charity tourny I was in several years ago, first prize was 2,500. We got to the final table and all of these players were excited they got there. As for me all I could think of was how was I going to win. I started the table, maybe fourth in chips. and I just pounded the hell out of them playing most anything, By the time they got tired of it, one went all in with AK and I pounded him with AA, The rest is history, winning the 2500! my favorite tip? Know who you are going to exploit at the table!
