Poker Tips: Ego is the enemy

Poker Tips Video Source & Information:

There are three types of decisions one makes at the poker table: logical, intuitive and emotional.

Logical and intuitive decisions are what lead to winning money, but it’s the emotional decisions which cause us to lose back those hard earned chips.

Ego is one of the leading causes of emotional based decision making. Learn this hack that works really well for me to avoid letting ego cloud judgement. This poker tip will help you make better, winning decisions during your next session.

  1. Great intro to the concept of personal bias and it’s effect on perspective in real time. Would love more content like this. Also hello from the psych community of YT 👋🏻

  2. I always do love your advice Alec Torelli. I decided to try your latest advice and it actually helped me to make better decisions instead of playing on emotion. I just need to think of a way to quickly remember this and implement at the table. Btw, the 3 types of decisions you listed spell out LIE.

  3. It took me a looong time to leave my ego at home or the hotel room however I keep making the same dumb mistakes I made when I first started learning the fundamentals of poker. I played in Aria’s daily $140 tournament last week, was dealt aces, re-raised like I should’ve however I stupidly was more fascinated with my pocket aces and didn’t read my opponent and didn’t noticed the texture of the board and lost 80% of my stack to a flopped set that turned into a full house. This was 20 minutes into the tournament. 🤬🤬🤬🤮🤮🤮🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  4. Acting like you're giving yourself advice over your shoulder makes sense, but it would make a lot more sense to tell yourself to go over to villains seat and look over his shoulder.

  5. Thank you bro, I won't get to detailed, but a few of your vids just helped me connect some dots I've been seeking for 10 years. I am dominating now, Thank you
