Roulette TUTORIAL – A True Casino Classic!

Learn Roulette Video Source & Info:

Roulette is one of the most fun and exciting casino games, that has been going strong since around the 17th century. The actual game first began in France, and the word roulette actually means little wheel, for those who didn’t know. Now that’s one fun fact out of the way, but I have one more coming your way.

Did you know that the known record for the same number hitting consecutively happened at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, where number 19 hit an incredible 7 times in a row? You are probably wondering what are the chances of that? Let me tell you – 1 in a whopping 3 billion! Yes, you heard that right, and yes we know that’s super strange. Bet you wish you were there that night betting your life savings on number 19! Unfortunately, nobody has succeeded in creating a time machine just yet!

THE ROULETTE WHEEL:
In a game of roulette, you are actually playing against the wheel – not against a betting table. Did you know that there are wheels that will reduce your chance of winning money?

Well, now you know. Keeping it nice and simple, let’s talk about two main types of roulette wheels – the French roulette wheel, and the American Roulette wheel. When you first look at both wheels, as a new player, we doubt you would be able to spot a difference. But when you have a closer look, you will notice one very important difference between French and American wheel.

The French roulette wheel has 36 numbers including one zero, where the American roulette wheel features an additional double zero. The addition of the double zero brings the total of the numbers included on the wheel to 37. This might not seem like such a big deal, but trust me, it is. The extra zero almost doubles the house edge – which does not have a positive impact on your winning potential!

Single zero games, give the house a 2.7% advantage, where the additional zero in the American roulette games bring the house edge up to 5.26% So, to have bigger chances to win, we recommend trying out the French version of roulette to all new players. One zero is more than enough, and it’s better to not over complicate things at the start.

TYPES OF BETS:
Roulette bets divide into two main categories, which are the outside and inside bets.

The outside bets are those you place outside the 37 or 38 numbers displayed on the roulette table. These include red or black, odd or even, low numbers 1-18 or high numbers 19-36, as well as columns and dozens. In all of these bets, you roughly have a 50% chance of winning, excluding the zero which is neither red, black, odd, even or any of the other numbers mentioned. If you place an outside bet and the ball lands on zero – it’s not your lucky day buddy!

For the inside bets, you have an option to bet on groups of three numbers, four numbers, two numbers or one number. These types of bets offer higher payouts, but at the same time are more risky, as the chances of landing a single number are rather slim – 1 to 37 in French Roulette. If you are only beginning your journey with roulette, it is best to first play around with outside bets, and then when you get used to the game and feel more comfortable, you can start experimenting with inside bets and try to fish for higher payouts!

BET SIZES:
Remember to consider the table minimum and maximum bet sizes. Join the table which has a minimum and maximum bet size that suits your budget. Set your bankroll before deciding to play, and don’t put all your money on one bet! Roulette is meant to be fun, and losing your money quickly is the opposite of fun! Stay at the game as long as you can, and have lots of fun!
