I submit myself publicly for scorn, ridicule and shame. I created a bloody nail prop with a blob of plastic blood that I could stick on the back of my hand with rubber cement for a bit of fun, but then I ended up puncturing myself for real because I forgot to account for a reversal of the order of the relevant things I was supposed to look at and pay attention to when setting things up, and I was too cocky and sure of myself to double check what was right in front of me when it came time to slam my hand down. Completely avoidable. No excuse. Just stupid. Fortunately it was performed for two friends who were kind enough to merely laugh at me and splutter nacho crumbs in my face. What was interesting, besides the fascinating sight of a nail sticking out from the back of my hand, was how little it hurt. You would think that the pain would be horrible. It didn't hurt anymore than a small puncture with a bit of bruising. Thin nail, but you would expect way more pain. Not actually that bad.
I don't know why even after reading the warning I was stunned and horrified by how wrong this act can be.
