Mario Kart Roulette #27: Motivation & Fitness Tips

  1. MARCHING BAND IS LIFE (I cried when it was the last game of the year (it was my boy's last game of high school marching band)

  2. Hearing "if you are doing nothing, do something" while you watch this and procrastine in something else was painful. I'm back to work (with this in the background). Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. I played trombone in marching band! That was my workouts throughout high school.  But I totally agree with the workout buddy, my wife is mine, but I got her into running, now she encourages me, and when you run with someone, you just don't want to stop, even if you get hurt, you just keep going, sometimes making it a ton worse… (don't worry, just ripped a big spot of skin off, on each foot, all fine).

  4. Who is Julia? If any commenters know, please leave a reply answering this question. I have been wondering this for a while. Thank you in advance.

  5. I am in marching band, and J, it is hard. Even for someone like me who plays trumpet, it is difficult. For one, marching band camp is in summer so many people pass out on the field, there are hardly and water breaks, and you want to give up. But, if you don’t, the reward after an amazing performance outweighs camp by a lot. Another point I must make is that any one person has to do three or more different things at once. I’ll use me as a trumpet player as an example. I have to 1) march with the correct technique which includes but is not limited to roll-stepping, side-stepping, counting in the music then place the right feet down at the right time, figuring out where I am using peripheral vision, making sure I’m in line, making sure my upper body stays steady so I don’t ruin my playing, making sure I’m facing the front side line at the right time as well as the back side line at the right time, and making sure I don’t hit anyone, 2) march in/to the right spots, 3) hold my instrument up with the correct technique as well as having the correct horn angle, 4) play my instrument correctly with the right fingerings/embouchure, 5) memorizing music as well as knowing ques to come in/counting rests including watching the conductor aka drum major, 7) not die during all of this, and finally 8) wearing the right clothing like uniforms, socks, and shoes otherwise, I don’t go on the field.
