  3. Very good explanation of slotted wing effect, but assumes a bit of knowledge of aerodynamics. Perhaps laminar flow was introduced earlier, along with pressure differentials and the Bernoulli Effect. (There are lots of aerospace engineers in Southern California and Seattle, but perhaps not so many elsewhere.)

    Good tip about the draft mark. A more advanced coverage of sail trim would introduce how to move the draft using other controls.
