  1. To the people who watch this and want to say things like "there were people who knew this stuff way back when", guys,..
#1) I can't call the video "if you suck at poker and think like the average reg from 2002 you should watch this, right?
#2) a lot of your comments have misunderstandings right in them. You can't, by definition, know what you don't know. So I'd just say maybe try to keep an open mind.
#3) you cannot, I mean honestly it's so close to impossible to have spent any amount of time playing with solvers and equity calculators and programs like Flopzilla, GTORB, snowie, Simple Preflop, etc, and then make the statement "We were just as good at poker way before those things existed."
Not a chance guys I'm sorry. Not trying to be offensive but it's just silly.

You all know that guys like "Kid Poker", Gus Hanson, and co CANT BEAT ONLINE NLH, right?

When those guys would sit in GAMES WOULD LITERALLY FORM AROUND THEM.

    Think about that.

Dan N "Kid Poker" turned down a prop bet maybe a year ago about wether or not he could beat MID STAKES games online. He didn't even claim to be able to do it without having some time to study the game before hand.

If you know those things and still think what you think, well, idk what to say.

But maybe just see if your ego may be doing some of the thinking for you. I'm just trying to help kids.

  2. I want to just put this out there all; I didn't say semi bluffing was new. I said that people used to like to "take free cards" that's not the same thing. I did say it was kind of high level back then, and I would say it was. Probably most of the field didn't really understand semi bluffing then. Definitely not the way we do now. I just don't see what is controversial about this video. But I'm gonna follow through on this heads up "any stake any time" offer. So if you are serious Mr Green, let me know.
We can work the details out right now if you're serious.

I think it would be very educational and I am sure my modest subscribers would be thrilled.

If nothing else it would obv be very entertaining right?

Why would I not do that? I play poker. I try to provide decent content. And I think the best place I could find for my money would be someone who watches this video and thinks "he's so dumb for thinking online players from 2018 are better than live players from 2005."

I am absolutely thrilled to put my money where my mouth is. It's what poker players always do. They bet money on their ability to beat others at poker.

If you are serious please just let's discuss the details.

No hard feelings. No offense meant. I literally just would very much like to bet some amount of $ on my ability to beat you at poker.

Like I do several times a week in the course of my normal life accept this will have some advertising leverage too.

    I'm in.

  3. Good video! One thing-
After the flop- AJ had top pair- used "pot control" and checking allowed KQ to hit a friggin gut shot? Wth- at least use an example of where newer poker theories win. (I know you did- I guess)
The language used in poker today is much more refined and can allow players to study poker in a more precise way/// but sometimes basic poker wins the pot.
I'm only a rec player and I'm always looking for ways to improve in order to enjoy the game more. Your video does provide a good comparison between the OS v NS- but I think they merge a little more then your video depicts, and you mention nothing of either hands equity which is 60%v40% PF- 82%v18% PTF- 92%v8% T// how the hand plays out from preflop to river is subjective to the particular table history.
I think new school poker is more advanced in the description of the game of poker, but most of these "ideas" have been practiced in one way or another since at least the early 1970s, at least by serious players. To say players "accidentally" won chips is a bit of a stretch?
I'll watch more of your videos- keep up the good work!

  4. As a seventy year old man is just a such tremendous advantage sometimes to play with wide range or younger players…..I agree generally that older players most often seem easier to control or manipulate…..your generally spot on with all your insights, but hey I these wide range players can be very predictable…….it’s just a matter of applying the pressure and counter manipulating generalisation about age etc…..will now watch everything you have posted …namaste

  5. I was just going through three comments again and I just have to say this. Honestly, people, I swear to you.. there is exactly no way whatsoever that live small stakes cash games are even remotely close to as tough as online games.
I play both and I’m not exaggerating one bit when I say that $1-$2 casino poker is softer than the absolute smallest stakes online.
    Nl5??
    Compared to live $1-$2??
    It’s not even close
    At all
The 2cent 5 cent nl5 online games are way way way way way tougher than $1-$2 live. I am tempted to call that an objective fact

  6. I’d like to add;
Betting for protection doesn’t map onto reality

And yes you absolutely can float out of position

  7. Let's go headsup kid. anytime, anywhere, any stakes.

Actually, let's not. I'll lose all my moneys to you. I'm more than proficient at full ring. I excel at 6-Max. But, heads-up… Oh deary me. It explains why I've come 2nd so many times… 😀

  8. Today people are using the same ideas it’s just real time solvers, especially while playing online.
