  1. I disagree with Bart about what is wrong with casino management. It isn’t promotion based on tenure, rather the opposite is the problem. Too many folks get their jobs because they are someone’s buddy and or give kickbacks to the person who is promoting them. It is the lack of a formal process of moving up based on merit which is the problem. Tenure does not assure quality, but generally speaking people develop over time and experience. Therefore, promotions and career development based at least in part on these principles have the best overall success. Radical right politics rage against tenure in the public arena, and there is some merit to that criticism of over adherence to a pure tenure system that excludes merit, but that is not at all what happens at casinos. There are no unions or other constructs that requires dealers supervisors or managers to be hired based on length of service. Staff at casinos and card clubs are routinely fired based on cause and without (most states are right to work states which means employers do not have to have a reason to to fire an employee). Additionally, most people in casinos don’t get or keep their job based on tenure, they almost exclusively have and keep their job based on personal relationships and some literally through payment. Merit based on ability, which is primarily a function of putting in the work for several years, has almost no consideration in the casino business especially in the area of poker rooms. How long someone has done a job is not an absolute indication of ability or quality at that profession, but in general, those who have put in more time at something are better, and card clubs and casinos would be run a lot better if tenure or time spent, more accurately, was a much bigger factor in hiring and promotion across all industry but especially in casinos and card clubs.

  2. Last call was funny. The guy said he did what he did to win his bluffy money and the guy does exactly that ( isulated) and he folds. Lol

  3. Can never fold vs villian on last call-in for that price. Villian is a maniac and I dont think he even realizes how to take someone to value town. Even if he does, he must know that he will get called 100% of the time. Caller just happened to level himself into folding.

Villian has built a reputation of polarizing his hand strength by jamming. He cant switch it up now.

  4. Watching from Sacramento I've been helping out with covid testing lately. I will be in Austin in a couple weeks helping put with Covid testing as well so hope to see one of the OG's at the game.. if anyone needs at home kits let me know in Austin.

  5. You know it would be kinda easy to walk in as Doug, Andrew, and Brad… tell the Lodge that they can either sell to them or they will just open their own room and put them out of business. As an owner of the Lodge I would feel forced to sell and take the best offer I could get.
