Hey man. Keep after it. I have a Broadcasting degree and have worked as a Sports Broadcaster and play poker professionally.. ilI have also considered vlogging for quite some time as it would be an extension of my Broadcasting skills…..just a few helpful tips.
1. Delivery. in all honesty you cant say anyway every other sentence and so many uh’s and expect to be taken seriously … Watch Neeme and Owen and how smooth their delivery is. If have have to do multiple takes, do multiple takes. If you watch Jamon Burton he has outtakes of his failures.
A more smooth delivery is necessary for cohesive flow and to keep peoples interest.
2. Vocal variety.
You need more vocal varsity and enthusiasm to keep peoples attention. Jhonnie Vibes gets away with a poor monotone delivery only because his poker analysis and editing are so good. As far as analysis he is one of the best period. But he is boring to listen to. Inject more enthusiasm into your delivery and excitement to excite viewers. Halfway through your video I’m just kind of bored, because you aren’t excited.
In Broadcasttng school it was always a challenge to get excited for the camera and for charismatic delivery.
3. Hand history.
Be more precise with hand history and only use what entertaining or where you or people can learn from. Ex. A tourney hand where you have a 5 and pair and every street checks is not good content. What do you or anyone gain from tha
Just a few helpful tips where you can improve, and hopefully get your subscribers UP. I believe 1k is necessary for You Tube to take note. And 10k for monetization and to start making a little money for your efforts.
Hope these things help you. Always pay attention to what the best are doing and emulate that with your own style. If you watch Jamon Burton he doesn’t actually do that much hand analysis but instead provides entertainment. Play with and see what works for you!!
