This video is Part 2 of my Blackjack series – 5 things you must NEVER DO when playing Blackjack. I am constantly surprised by how often people either don’t know this, or – if they do – they just don’t do it. Or ignore it.

These 5 tips don’t require you to memorize anything, or become an egghead or something. They are simple, easy to do, and easy to remember. Just by knowing this, you will already be well ahead of the vast majority of casual Blackjack players who just throw their money away, and don’t know it. So, spend 11 minutes with this Blog, and save your cash.

  1. My best night on Blackjack was actually at a table using a continuous shuffler. Now in all fairness, I have not had another good night on one before or sense that night. However, that night was an anomaly to be sure, 4 players and all had mostly winning hands with the dealer busting a considerable number of times. I was on the first seat and the guy on the last seat made out like a bandit and was betting $500 a hand and by the time he left, he had to have made at least $15k, I made out with only $3k and the most I bet was only $100. No matter how the cards are shuffled, it all comes down to luck, if it's your night, it's your night and ride it for all it's worth.

Funny enough the worst night I had, there was a guy next to me who split his 10s, got another and split again, the dealer had a 4. We all told him not to do it, even after the first split we told him and he did it again anyway and got another 10 but maxed on the number of times he could split, surely enough when the dealer flipped the cards, they had an 8 so 12, next card was a 3 = 15, then a 6 = 21. everyone at the table had 20 or less and lost. I was pissed, but not as much as the guy who doubled down, I was sitting between them and had to try to keep the peace but even after that I colored up and got out of there.

  2. Here is a HUGE tip for you. DO NOT PLAY BLACKJACK AT A TABLE WHERE THE DEALER IS AN ORIENTAL FEMALE. Just trust me on this.

  3. 1. Well the problem with your first one is, that it won't have any effect on your expected performance unless you're counting cards, and the casinos, if they thought you were counting cards, they would ban you outright….. so what are they going to do, give you non-continuously shuffled games to attract card counters, the very individuals they want banned from their premises? Your unwillingness to play with a continuous shuffler is a direct statement to the casino that you are a card counter. If you are not counting cards, and you think it makes a difference for YOU, you're wrong. No, I'll tell you what's the WORST….. it's games where the house pays attention to the count, and they shuffle the shoe before the cut card if it gets too advantageous to the player. THAT is detrimental to everyone, even those that aren't counting cards and flat betting because they will suffer through portions where lots of low cards are present and then be denied the reward they are owed for suffering through all of that.

    2. Same thing. This is a true rule to follow if you're counting cards….. but most watching this video, aren't doing that. It makes no difference if it's electronic or real, continuously shuffled or not, if you're not counting cards. 20% house edge? Nonsense. The odds are at most a fraction of a percent different because it's equivalent to an infinite number of decks in the shoe instead of 2 or 6 or 8.

  4. I'm a resident of Las Vegas and I live blackjack and the biggest mistake I see players make is betting too much on one hand to the point that they can not survive the heavy down swings. Learning money management is the most important aspect of the game.

  5. You're either hot or you're not. Take insurance on a 20 hand. Always hit 16 against a dealers good hand. Walk away after 3 strikes.

  6. I don’t gamble that often. The last time I played Blackjack, I sat at a $5 table. There were 5 of us playing. The dealer dealt herself 17 consecutive hands of 18-21 on the deal. I pushed once with a hand of 20 and lost my $100 before I knew what hit me. Needless to say, she cleaned the table out in about 20 minutes.
