Blackjack Tips Information & Video Source:

Not long ago we posted a video on what to do about bad blackjack players at the table and some people rightly pointed out that the bad blackjack players do have an impact on the game. HOWEVER, some people rightly pointed out that bad blackjack players DO affect you, just not in the way that most gamblers are thinking. In this video we discuss a few welcomed distractions for card counters and how some bad blackjack players are impacting your winnings.

3 Ways Bad Blackjack Players REALLY Affect You

  1. Colin, I completely agree with you on points 1 and 2. Another way other players slow down the game is with all of those pesky side bets every house seems to have now. However, I have to take a little exception to your 3rd point about playing with celebrities or simply anyone betting bigger than you are. As I learned the hard way with one of my early back-offs, if they're watching one player at the table, they're watching every player at the table. Perhaps not the pit boss, but certainly surveillance. I one time was backed off playing red and losing, while a black chipper was winning (though he was obviously a bad player who was getting a lot of positive variance)! Since then, I don't mind if I"m the big player, or about the same as other players, but if someone else is betting significantly more than I am, I find another table.

  2. is it normal to play 10- 12 shoes in a row and wong out constantly at anything over a true -1 and only ever reach a true +1 one one out of these 10-12 shoes??? can this really be variance? it seems so consistent that it has to be truth and not variance

  3. Colin! This might be a dumb question, but playing perfect basic strategy and counting perfectly. At what point does one cancel the other? Say I'm showing a 14 and the dealer is showing a 2 up but the count is a d7 (I know I should wong out at this point, but just for example purposes), would hitting that knowing your going to get a small card be a bad move because its against basic strategy?

  4. Hey can someone help me out please! I'm going to a casino in a couple of days and just wanted to know are you allowed to ask the dealers how many decks they're playing with? Because I know that the less decks they us the better it is for the players but like is there any casinos that use only 1 or 2 decks?

  5. I think theres one more way they can affect you and truthfully its rare and is only a distraction if you have disapline. Its the player saying a whole range of numbers from what he has to what others have what he needs to get 21. all these numbers just being said and your just tring to remember the running number. hes there going 6 and 4 thats 12 i need a 9 the dealer 8 if i get a 4 do i hope for a 5? Your there going 8! 8! 8! 8! 8! 8! 8!!!!!!!!

  6. how do i find a casino that wont allow u to take insurance? it would speed up the game so much, id probably have a lot higher win rate.

  7. Your videos are excellent. I learned alot from the courses you teach. I have a question. If a player on a blackjack table 3:2 plays one hand, than the next round plays 2 hands, than again one hand. Does that effect the results of me( or) any other players on the table of getting a good hand because that one player is constantly switching from one hand to two hands????!
