Topics covered include: how much it costs you per hour in lost winnings; how you get shorted if you don’t bet in increments of $5; and how the even-money insurance bet is affected.

Why You Should Never Play 6-to-5 Blackjack With Blackjack Expert Henry Tamburin

  1. avoid motor city casino in Detriot they secretly switched their bj tables to 6/5 everybody loses their now yet they can pay the tigers and redwings millions of dollars

  2. I hope to see 3 to 2 games back but over the years the BJ games have just been deteriorating 🙁

  3. Question for American casino guide as a new card counter I always look for $5 minimum tables and in the casino I go to they do have those games however they are all 6-5 games should I just go to a $10 or $15 table that pays 3-2 even though it’s high for a new player

  4. can someone explain why multiple decks hurt the player if the ratio of cards are the same how does it worsen the odds

  5. In a casino there will be 10 tables of 6 to 5 and 2 or 3 tables of 3 to 2 blackjack so you could still find a 3 to 2 game in a casino that had a 6 to 5 game. I also heard that some casinos offer even money on blackjack with a dealer ace on a 6 to 5 as a consession to the players .

  6. Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, IL has 2 types of blackjack tables, a couple 5-10 dollar tables that pay 6-5, and the 25 dollar minimum tables that pay 3-2. Both hit soft 17. When I pass by the different tables, I notice that people really do appear to play full steam ahead at the 6-5 tables. Idk if they are ignorant or just don't care, or if they put up with it because they want to play the lower minimum bet table… but the 6-5 tables somehow keep nice and full… it's easier to get a seat at the 3-2 tables, due to the higher minimum. It's the only table worth playing, but I wish I knew a place with better rules overall. I wonder why the blackjack rules are lacking… cause their craps tables are really good, having 100x max odds, paying triple on 12 for the field, paying commission only on wins for buy bets, etc. Rules that allow for a razor thin house edge for smart players. You'd think they'd have similar mindset with blackjack, but guess not..

  7. Every time I go back to Vegas it gets harder and harder to find 3-to-2 tables. Have to end up at a place like Hooters or Orleans to find those tables with low minimums. This is why I HATE people who play 6-5 tables, because they are the ones screwing it up for the rest of us who refuse to play them. If we ALL boycotted 6-5 games the casinos would have no choice but to offer only 3-2 games. But stupid people keep playing the 6-5 tables completely oblivious to the poor odds, and so the casinos keep converting more tables to those rules.

  8. It's a stark choice to play at $5 6:5 or at $20 3:2 for the same HA loss amount. Vegas is all about them $25 tables anyways.

  9. Also note that whenever you see a 6/5 blackjack just walk away and don't bother with other rule. You can find a 6/5 table that has all the good rules. But that won't make a difference. 6/5 is just a terrible game and should always be avoided.
