Are You LUCKY Or GOOD At Poker?

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

In this video I will answer a common question that I am often asked by my poker students: Am I lucky or good at poker?

It is very easy as a poker player to believe that winning one tournament means that you are a great player. While in some cases that might be correct in others it could also be far from the truth!

To win any poker tournament, you are going to have to be lucky at some point! You are either going to bink to win all-ins or get dealt numerous strong preflop hands.

Remember that sample size is everything. You will need to play a large number of tournaments or hours at the cash game tables to get a better understanding of whether you are getting your money in good more often than not!

Professional poker players understand very clearly how variance works in poker tournaments and poker cash games. They are aware that it takes a combination of luck and skill to win at poker.

On this Poker Coaching channel we cover a weekly poker topic to help improve your poker strategy!

In order to take your poker game to the next level it is vitally important you learn all the nuances of the game.

Do you know what ranges of poker hands you should be playing from each position? When should you 3-bet, call or fold? When is the right time to make a hero call or a huge bluff? Do you know how to play preflop, flop, turn & river effectively and how should your poker strategy change depending on the street? What difference does it make if you are playing multi-way vs heads-up?

We answer all of these poker questions and more in our poker strategy videos. You can find them all on this playlist:

  1. After watching this video, what do you think – are you lucky or good at poker? 🤑

  2. Let's say you found a game with all noobs to poker. How would you play? Would you rely on tons of experience and training and play perfect gto against them? Point is you have to adjust to EVERY session and even play every player different. Evey video I watch goes in circles and always leads back to a training course. I understand posing unanswerable questions and giving vague info, how about some real training videos? Show that what you sell does have value, maybe get more sales.

  3. Jonathan, I have been playing tourneies for awhile 125 to 325 buy in and am in the money 1 in 6 timesbut I can not get ahead of the game enough to move up any advice ?

  4. I think it's important to look back at session the next day and figure out how to improve. If you wait a day your less tilted and can try to fix leaks .

  5. Skill and acute knowledge of math and psychology when I win, bad luck when I lose, obviously.
