  1. 1) if you are not a winning player, NO bankroll is enough.
    2) don't get fooled by "survivor bias". That's where you look at all the crushers who "started out with a single buy-in" and think "I can name a bunch of guys that did not follow any real BRM and did just fine".
    that is true.
the problem is – no one can can name the thousands and thousands of people who tried to do the exact same thing and failed.
because they are all long gone.

poker is a great game, but being a poker pro isn't really a "great job".
sure, you have no boss, set your own hours (not really!), etc.
but there are none of the "normal" job benefits.
no paid vacation or sick leave, no insurance, no retirement plan (401k, pension, profit sharing, deferred comp)
and most of the people who make it "big" in poker are smart & driven enough to do just as well in the "real world".

  2. 2:02 – 3:05 If you’re just starting your path of playing good (perfect?) poker and are able to not focus on results.
3:37 – 3:52 Once you are playing good poker.

Believe the man, it’s some of the best advice you’ll get for starting off. Brian, thanks for another great video.

  3. I was on bad tilt the past few weeks. Always been down bad at cash games, but had some success at tournaments and house games. Just started playing 1-2 3 weeks ago and was down $400 after two sessions. I know I’m better that, but knew I was getting away from the fundamentals. After watching your series, I said screw it, got $300 out of the atm and headed to the casino. Followed your tips and played with the fundamentals… tight and aggressive.

Left the casino with $600. Thanks for the tips man. You do a great job, keep up the great work.

  4. As an amateur/recreational player who is break even/slight win at the $1/$2 NL game, I cannot thank you enough for these videos. I wish I would have watched them sooner. Thank you for the "down to earth and no nonsense" way you present this material.

  5. When do you recommend ending a winning session? How many hours are a typical session? Great videos, I've learned a lot!

  6. I think you're right on. I know I took a leap I quit my job and now just play so far doing well. You are helpful. I played at jacks in Cincinnati last night. 1/3 got in with 300 played a HR and half cashed out 995.00 last week I played at jacks 1/3 300 buy in. Played 4. Hrs cashed 1340.00 before that I lost the last four nights I played. It was your videos that really helped. Take care
