BRAD OWEN Faces A TRASH Talker With A FULL HOUSE!

Poker Strategy Info And Source:

Brad Owen is playing against an opponent who just won’t stop talking at the poker table. Confusing him for Clive Owen, this trash talker decides to min raise Brad on the turn but doesn’t realize yet that he has run into a full house.

This poker hand highlights the importance of recognizing how each opponent is different and how your poker strategy should be adapted accordingly. You can size up your value bets against ‘fun’ players that are splashing around and looking to gamble.

At the beginning of this poker video I discuss why it is not a very good poker strategy to open limp. Raise preflop!

On the turn, there are certain situations that you do want to lead with some of your strongest hands to try and build a pot.

When deciding on what bet sizes to use you should be thinking about your opponent’s range of hands and what size that range will call.

  1. I stopped at 3:38 you havent addressed the chance of the other guy having pocket Q

  2. This guy was an guy. He should have known Clive Owen is the master of 8/2 off suit! 🙂

  3. A lot of players will Donk the river here and that’s just so bad. I think it’s because it’s devastating when they have QJ or something, from their POV, and check back river. This is a good Hand for showing how to let people hang themselves.

  4. First off, love the video, super funny. Just some thoughts. If playing a ck raise on the river, is it possible Brad may want to make it say $225-$275 total as a catch-all sizing? Reasons: 1. If trashtalkers range is weighted toward marginal made hands he should pay off more frequently than a raise to $400. There are hands that aren't as good as a Q that may pay here a smaller ck raise. 2. He has value hands he will now raise with that we beat. 77, 22, flushes, random 8s not with a Q/7 which may not matter as they should be 3 betting river anyway. If somehow he has QQ or Q8 as Brad mentioned we are getting stacked anyway. 3. It allows our opponent to "re-bluff" with air hands which he also a has a ton of and may stack off with seeing a small bet as weakness. Granted, I don't see bluffs here in a limped pot but as an exploit the opponent may not be thinking like that.

  5. I know its the internet but I swear on my life I played this exact hand today and hit a boat at the turn but I fired at the flop and the turn.
It was a ladies tournment and it was only 4 handed. I only played it was just the blinds and cause love it, That's why. Lady to my left was disgusted of course because I called a preflop bet of 3x the bb but only 200/400 3rd round in the tournment

  6. The villain in this hand is a laundry list of annoying things poker players do: berate the dealer, talk sh*t, tank like they're at the WSOP final table. Hate dudes like that with a passion. I wish them all the coolers imaginable.
