Poker Strategy: Bluffing The River With A Blocker

  1. I think he got a K to fold…the only thing that makes sense unless he was just 100% bluffing.

  2. Given that the flop went check-check, I think the river is a pretty clear call. This is one of the best hands, we can ever show up with, and we even block the nut flush. He could be blocker betting a worse Q, and he could also be bluffing and just giving himself a good price.

And given that we can profitably call, I see no reason to turn our hand into a bluff. As Bert say, a lot of his value is very strong and probably not going to fold to our shove. So we are just kind of value owning ourselfes and mostly only picking the pot up, when we had the best hand anyway.

  3. love blockers is the most overrated bad in poker, it only works in omaha and not even lol

  4. Only bad players assume he should have bet the flop with a flush draw in position?.I dont understand why Bart thinks like this so..Why wouldnt I bet the flop If I have a flush draw in position on a flop texture which hits both of our ranges as well as including straight draw possibilities.I am not saying I will always bet the flop with a flush draw in position when its checked to me.But In this spot,Id definitely bet it.I can double or triple barrel or I can get paid well when the obvious flush hits or I may reevaluate and give up on the turn so on.So I think,There is nothing wrong with "being surprised" if hero shows up with a flush here.I would expect him to bet the flop huge portion of the time on a flop texture with the given preflop actions.

  5. need some thoughts . Day 2 in a live tourney 1.5K buy in deep stack, average chips 140K, getting close to the bubble, Hero stack 220K in the Big blind with 63spades, V 250K blinds 2K-4K, V opens in mid position to 9K, Hero close. flop Qs10d7s, hero check, V Cbet 15K, Hero call. turn 2h, action: check check, river Ace of spades, hero opens 23K, villain shoves all in…what shall you do?

  6. You look about as happy as a fart in a spacesuit.I am calling because the fish checked the KING,what was the result anyway.
